Winemaker Etienne Mangier
Originally from the foothills of the French Jura region, Etienne graduated with a Masters in Oenology at ISARA Lyon, France. His vineyard and winemaking skills were planted during his time working in Sauternes, France, where his respect for the importance of the vineyard was cemented.
His passion for winemaking has taken him around the world, working in countries such as South Africa, Canada, America, South Korea and finally Australia, where he migrated permanently in 2010.
Etienne created the North wine label in 2013 after he found a hidden gem of a vineyard on a north facing slope in the Mount Macedon region.
His philosophy with winemaking is simple. The wine should reflect its place, with little intervention from the vineyard to the bottle.
